October 17th 2015: FAMILY FAITH FESTIVAL PLEASE JOIN US SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2015 Families find the festival very enjoyable as it consists of a meal followed by fun and faith filled activities such as games and crafts with something to engage everyone. July 31st 2015: ADULT FAITH FORMATION TRIP: An all day excursion to the Sight & Sound Theater in Lancaster,PA, to see Joseph on Friday, July 31st, is planned The bus leaves from Murray’s Skating Rink, Tuckahoe Road, at 9 a.m. The cost is $154 per person. St. Bart’s parishioners and friends have made 6,063 donations to date. Thank you to all who have participated in our past drives. We are traditionally asked to run drives during holiday periods when the need for blood is great and the donations are usually down. March 19 2015: Our Social Ministry will be providing Easter Food Baskets to some of our less fortunate brothers and sisters. Thanks to your generosity most items are already gathered. The items we are requesting to enhance the holiday spirit of our baskets are candy, fresh / canned fruits or fresh/frozen desserts. If you can contribute to this effort, please bring the item to one of the Palm Sunday Masses next weekend. The baskets will be distributed on Monday, March 30th.

Saturday December 27th 2014: St. Bartholomew’s Parish Holiday Celebration and Luncheon Saturday, December 27th, at 1 p.m. McManus Parish Center As part of our outreach to our neighbors and those who feel lonely or sad during this joyous season, some parishioners in conjunction with our Social Ministry Committee have planned a Parish Christmas Party that is open to all. As parishioners, we are all encouraged to help welcome our guests and partake of the luncheon. Those so inclined can contribute a potluck dish or monetary donation. December 12th 2014:Our Lady of Guadalupe is the Patroness of the Americas. We are going to have prayers and traditional hymns in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe in the church at 6 a.m. this Friday, December 12th, followed by the 7 a.m. Mass and a reception in the McManus Parish Center

December 9th 2014: The women of the parish are invited to join the members of the Rosary Altar Society on Tuesday, December 9th, for a special 6 p.m. Mass and their Christmas Dinner at Reno’s Restaurant, 33 Lockwood Avenue, Yonkers. December 9th 2014: SENIORS GROUP OUTING - This coming Tuesday, December 9th, the Seniors Group will be viewing the large Nativity display at the Westchester Italian Cultural Center in Tuckahoe, following the 9 a.m. Mass. August 23rd 2014: PARISH CELEBRATION Our parish is planning a block party for Saturday, August 23rd, from 6 - 10 p.m. to celebrate the Feast of St. Bartholomew. Besides attending, we are asking for your help with this celebration by providing money donations toward the cost of food and drink. Our Social Ministry Committee is organizing the shopping and volunteers for this event. Below you’ll find our shopping list and “rounded off” cost of the items.

December 21st 2013: Come to Lessons and Carols - an Advent Reflection - following the 5 p.m. Mass in church next Saturday, December 21st. Our Lectors, Religious Education children and choirs present the Nativity story in a short program that focuses on the true inspiration for Christmas.

December 12 2013: St. Bartholomew's Church and the Hudson Valley Blood Services express sincere appreciation to the 94 donors that came to our Blood Drive on Friday, November 29th. We collected 81 pints with 13 deferrals. Those who were unable to donate or unavailable that day can still be part of our Blood Drive by making an appointment with the Hudson Valley Blood Services to donate at their convenience. Thursday, December 5th 2013: ADULT FAITH FORMATION TRIP Go back in time and witness the greatest birth in history. Be surrounded by the bustling village of Bethlehem as camels, horses, donkeys, and villagers pass by. Be transported to the hillside where legions of angels descend upon the shepherds to proclaim, “The Savior is born!” Dine at the famous Miller’s Smorgasbord prior to the show. An all day excursion to the Sight & Sound Theater in Lancaster, PA to see the Miracle of Christmas on Thursday, December 5th, is planned. Friday, September 27th 2013: Adult Faith Formation trip to Glory in Gotham: Explore the Influence of Religion on NY History Join this full day tour to visit some of the most beautiful houses of worship in NYC, explore the influence of religion on NY’s history from Catholicism to Judaism & from Buddhism to Islam. Monday, July 29th 2013: On July 29th at 7:00 pm McManus Parish Center A showing of the movie, Courageous Four men, one calling: To serve and protect. As law enforcement officers, they are confident and focused. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge that none of them are truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood. While they consistently give their best on the job, good enough seems to be all they can muster as dads. But they're quickly discovering that their standard is missing the mark. When tragedy hits home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, their faith, and their fathering. Can a newfound urgency help these dads draw closer to God and to their children? We are opening our family faith festival on Saturday, March 9th, from 12:00 to 2:30 p.m. to everyone in our parish. Regardless of whether you are a single adult, an empty nester, or a senior, you are invited to join our families for a simple meal, followed by fun- filled faith activities some brought back by popular demand!. December 8th 2012: ANNUAL RETREAT- St. Bartholomew’s Rosary  Altar Society is holding its annual one-day Retreat for women on  Saturday,December 8th, Feast of the Immaculate Conception, from 9  a.m.-3p.m. The program, Encountering Mary as a Model of Gospel  Living, includes attendance at the 12 noon Mass and concludes with the Exposition of the Eucharist and Benediction. Parish Trip to See Play about Catherine of Sienna

A Fall trip to Ossining to view the play, Catherine of Sienna, A Woman of Our Times, is planned for Sunday afternoon, October 14th. The tickets ($35 per person) will include the performance followed by lunch. Rather than chartering a bus, the plan is to carpool and/or meet at the Center. 

Dominican Sister Nancy Murray, sister of actor Bill Murray, recreating one of Catholicism’s most influential women in this one woman play, has given over 400 performances across the U.S., Europe, South America, Central America and Asia. This limited, one time engagement will sell out.

Reservations placed with Cheryl Duda in the Religious Education Office (476-6676) are required by July 1st, and must include payment. If ticket requests exceed the available supply, tickets will be distributed on a first reserved basis.
