                                  PARISH FINANCE COUNCIL

                                            Fund Raising Committee

Ministry Purpose / Objective:
To lead the parish in efforts that raise funds to support the services needed to carry out the mission of the parish.

Fundraising Committee Chairperson Position Description
Reports to:         Pastor and Finance Chairperson

General Responsibilities of Every Ministry and Committee Chairperson and Coordinator:
                                                                                                                            
Specific Responsibilities of Fundraising Committee Chairperson:

  • Ensure that meetings are held to plan, execute, and review fundraising activities.
  • Recruit new members for the Committee, with approval from the Finance Council.
  • Maintain constant communication with the Chairperson of the Finance Council
  • Send regular report of the activities of the Committee to the Finance Council (in person or in writing)
  • Send regular update of fundraising activities to the Pastoral Council and to the parish so as to encourage full participation of the parish.
  • Keep accurate account of the expenses and income of any fundraising activity and report same to the Pastor and Finance Chairperson.
  • Ensure that funds raised from any activities are returned to the rectory same day. No money should be taken home by any member of the Committee.
  • Give accurate account of income and expenses after each fundraising activity


 Expected Length of Commitment:
 At least two years, renewable by the Pastor and Finance Council.

 Specific Qualifications Required:

  • Interest and some knowledge of fundraising.
  • Trustworthy


            Fundraising Committee Member Position Description

Reports to:         Finance Chairperson

Ministry Purpose/Objective:

To lead the parish in efforts that raise funds to support the services needed to carry out the mission of the parish.

General Responsibilities of Every Ministry and Committee Member:

Specific Responsibilities of Fundraising Committee Members:

Member’s role is primarily to help the Committee fulfill its purpose by helping to:

  • Plan and execute fundraising activities
  • Constantly assess the success of such activities to be sure that they are worth the effort put into them and that we get the best out of each activity. 
  • Solicit help from parishioners in planning and executing parish fundraising activities.
  • Encourage the participation of all parishioners in fundraising activities.


 Special Activities:

  • Parish 50/50 Fundraiser
  • Parish Sweepstakes Fundraiser
  • Parish Bingo Fundraiser
  • Parish Scratch Off Fundraiser
  • Dances


Meetings (when held, frequency, etc.):

  • Quarterly and as needed, especially when activities are coming up


Expected Length of Commitment:

  • At least one year.
